
Interactive Aesthetics: Mitigating Cross-Cultural Dissonance in Cross-Culturally Situated Design
In this invited, virtual lecture Professor Bennett shares with information design students at the University in Pretoria in South Africa a collaborative approach to design where interactive aesthetics are deployed for mitigating cultural dissonance in cross-culturally situated designing. In this presentation, Bennett references interdisciplinary perspectives on what constitutes culture and introduces a meta-definition of design for humanitarian professionals addressing societal issues.
